Fundraising at your wedding

You can make a difference to the lives of people experiencing homelessness on your wedding day.

Fundraising at your wedding

There’s lots of different ways that you can make a difference to the lives of people experiencing homelessness on your wedding day.

Ask for donations instead of gifts

Set up a JustGiving page, so it’s easy for friends and family to donate in the lead up to and on your wedding day. Personalise your page to let everyone know why you’ve chosen to support St Mungo’s and how their donations will make a huge difference.

Once your page is set up, you can share the link on your invitations or wedding website. You could also download a copy of our St Mungo’s cards that can be customised, printed and posted out with your wedding invitations to show your guests that you have chosen to support us and how they can make a donation.

Why not hold a collection on your wedding day to support us. You could choose to have a collection tin by the bar for guests to make a donation or print out a QR code from your JustGiving page, for people to scan and donate online.

Why seeds? We run a horticultural recovery projects called Putting Down Roots where our clients can learn new skills, connect with others and support their mental health through gardening.

Rosie and Edwards Story

As Rosie and Edward had already been living ogether for a few years, they decided that they didn’t need anything else for their house and instead chose to ask their guests to make a donation to St Mungo’s.

“We live in central London and have seen the devastating effect that the last decade has had on people. And we know that anyone can be down on their luck. Homelessness should not be possible in a society that considers itself civilised.

“Thank goodness for St Mungo’s, who have helped so many people in shelters not far from our home with the resources they need, and whose task is (sadly) getting larger.

“The huge goodwill expressed to us from guests at our wedding towards supporting St Mungo’s is illustrative of how highly the organisation is held. We even had guests whose family had been personally helped by St Mungo’s.

“We hope that our and their contributions have gone some way to supporting your excellent work.”
