Sir Leigh has been a dedicated supporter of St Mungo’s for over 15 years, serving as a Trustee and now as Vice President. Formerly Permanent Secretary at the Department for Work and Pensions, Leigh entered the Department of Employment in 1973 after studying languages at Liverpool University. He held several key positions during his civil service career, including Chief Executive of the Employment Service and Jobcentre Plus, and Permanent Secretary for Crime, Policing and Counter-terrorism in the Home Office. Aside from St Mungo’s, Leigh is currently vice chair of the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust and a visiting fellow at Greenwich University.
