St Mungo’s Recovery College students David and Lorraine featured on the BBC’s The One Show last night (20 December 2017).
David, who is now also a St Mungo’s Client Advisory Board member, talked about becoming homeless after a breakdown in family relationships and financial problems as he was being sketched by former St Mungo’s activity worker Adebanji Alade, now an award-winning artist who regularly appears on The One Show.
Adebanji also talked to Lorraine as she and David took part in a Recovery College Art Therapy session at Rushworth Street, Southwark.
Lorraine said that, following a relationship breakdown, and multiple bereavements in the family, she became homeless, started drinking and her life spiralled out of control. After receiving help, Lorraine’s said her life is “back on track”. Both she and David are now in accommodation.
